TETON Electronics Inc., a Silicon Valley-based USA company with a wholly owned subsidiary, TETON Private Ltd, Dhaka, Bangladesh, has been developing cutting-edge electronic consumer products since 2020. The company is building a VLSI Physical Design team to develop silicon for AL/ML-based IoT products. We are looking for a group of highly motivated, innovative, driven, and team-oriented engineers to work with our USA-based customers.
As a Senior Engineer in IC Physical Design (PnR), you will play a crucial role in implementing and optimizing physical design flows, from RTL to GDSII, ensuring world-class quality and adherence to design specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on advanced technology nodes, gain valuable exposure to leading semiconductor design methodologies, and contribute to innovation in the VLSI industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform RTL-to-GDSII implementation of physical design, including floorplanning, power planning, clock tree synthesis (CTS), placement and routing, engineering change orders (ECO), and logic equivalency checks (LEC).
Conduct thorough static timing analysis (STA) to ensure timing closure while meeting design goals for performance and timing requirements.
Analyse power and signal integrity issues, such as IR drop and noise, and implement optimization strategies to achieve power, performance, and area (PPA) targets.
Drive sign-off processes, ensuring designs comply with foundry-specific physical and electrical verification rules, including design rule checks (DRC), layout versus schematic (LVS) verification, and electromigration/IR drop (EMIR) checks.
Develop and maintain design methodologies and automation flows using efficient scripts and tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including RTL design, verification, and DFT teams, to ensure seamless integration. Work across different time zones, addressing client requirements and mentoring junior engineers.
Prepare technical documentation, maintain project records, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Understand and align with client expectations while managing project timelines, schedules, and deliverables.
Qualifications and Skills:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering/Computer Science and Engineering/Applied Physics or equivalent, with a focus on VLSI Design and Digital Electronics.
Proficiency in tools such as Cadence Innovus, Synopsys ICC2, Mentor Calibre, and Synopsys PrimeTime.
Coursework or experience in VHDL and Verilog/SystemVerilog is highly desirable.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in physical design or back-end ASIC/SoC design flows.
Strong expertise in physical design tools and methodologies.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or any high-level programming language.
Hands-on experience with Linux and scripting languages like Perl, Python, TCL, and Shell scripting.
Excellent communication skills in both written and oral formats.
Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging tools, processes, and technologies.
Self-motivated with innovative thinking, capable of multitasking under pressure.
